BSNL has unveiled three new Value Added Services

BSNL has unveiled three new Value Added Services-Video SMS, Live Share and Dial-a-Video for its 2G and 3G mobile customers across the country. These services were inauguarted by Sachin Pilot, Honorable Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology at Chandigarh, says a press note. These VAS are being launched in collaboration with technology partners Cervello for 'Video SMS' and 'Live Share' and PK Online for 'Dial-a-Video'. These services are expected to generate revenues of around Rs.200-300 crore in the next two to three years.
S.S. Sirohi, Chief General Manager Telecom, Punjab Circle elaborated on the benefits of these services to the customers and their potential of generating huge revenues for BSNL. These 'first of its kind' services in entertainment as well utility domain are primarily targeted at youth and professional segment of the market.
Video SMS ( 3G) provides short videos (voice+picture) and instant communicating. It is free from the limitations of MMS service which could not take off because of complexity. Customers can make a video call to 58877, record video and send video message from a 3G mobile. The receiving mobile can be an ordinary one with GPRS facility only and subscriber of any network. Live-Share (Live Video Sharing) for both 2G and 3G customers helps in creating and sharing video with family and friends instantly, on SMS or on social networks. Dial-a-Video is exclusively for 3G subscribers to have fun and entertainment with music and movie videos, news, TV and cartoon etc. Subscribers ought to make a video call to 51010 from 3G mobile to enjoy the experience.
